How to Choose the Right Watch Size for Your Wrist
The right case size makes a watch look as if it were made for you. Too small and it disappears; too large and it overwhelms the wrist. Here is a simple guide to finding your perfect fit.
Step 1: measure your wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure, or a strip of paper you then measure with a ruler, around your wrist just below the wrist bone. Note the circumference in centimetres.
Step 2: match your wrist to a case size
- Up to 15 cm: cases from about 26 to 36 mm feel balanced and refined.
- 15 to 17 cm: 36 to 42 mm is the versatile sweet spot for most wrists.
- 17 to 19 cm: 40 to 44 mm cases wear confidently.
- Over 19 cm: 44 mm and above, including bold sport chronographs.
These are guides, not rules. Style matters too: a large sport chronograph is meant to make a statement, while a slim dress watch is meant to slip under a cuff.
Step 3: look beyond the diameter
- Lug-to-lug length: the distance from the top to the bottom of the case. If it is longer than your wrist is wide, the watch will overhang.
- Thickness: a thinner case sits closer to the wrist and fits more easily under a shirt.
- Strap: a mesh or leather strap makes a watch look more elegant; a silicone strap makes it look sportier.
Every watch in our store lists its case diameter and thickness in the specifications. Compare sizes in men's watches and women's watches, and change the look in seconds with interchangeable straps.
